Kicking Off WP8 – Strengthening the Network of Activities
October 23, 2025
Strengthening the Network of Activities Among Europe’s Comprehensive Cancer Centers!
One for All
This powerful message set the tone for the EUnetCCC WP8 Kick-off Meeting in Stockholm, hosted by Karolinska University Hospital.
Over 130 participants—from cancer centers, patient organizations, and national health authorities—gathered for two days of vision-sharing, strategy-building, and cross-border collaboration.
What happened in Stockholm?
- Designed activities and developed concrete plans
- Built new relationships and strengthened existing ones
- Exchanged ideas across the 10 tasks of WP8
- Created a dynamic, engaging, and ambitious roadmap for the future
This is just the beginning! Two months into the project, we have almost four years ahead to build a strong, collaborative network of cancer centers across 31 EU and associated countries.
Together, we aim to:
Enhance the implementation of clinical guidelines
Advance personalized cancer prevention
Strengthen the cancer research ecosystem
Improve precision diagnostics and secondary use of clinical data
Foster collaborative clinical trials
Support cancer survivorship programs
Develop strong governance and leadership structures for CCCs
Why does this matter?
Because efficient cross-border networking makes a difference. By working together, we can accelerate progress in cancer prevention, care, and research—creating lasting impact across Europe.
The leadership of WP8 is committed to driving this ambitious effort forward, supported by an outstanding team: Per Magnus Maehle, Delia Nicoara, Eva Jolly, Peter Naredi, Ingrid Jenny Guldvik, Kristina Olausson, and Nina Nicoara.
This is just the beginning—looking forward to the continued collaboration with all partners in this important mission!
