Task 8.2.4 Precision Cancer Diagnostics
A busy autumn for Precision Diagnostics
2nd webinar in our series, 'Advancing Data Collection in Molecular Tumour Boards' held on the 19th of September, building momentum after our first webinar in June 11 'Exploring Molecular Tumour Board Operations and recent guidelines'. In addition, we are preparing for site visits to Gustave Roussy, to OUS and to Hartwig in October and November, building on the successful visit to Vall d'Hebron in June. We will present an abstract to ESMO's annual conference in October, and hold our second face-to-face core group meeting. We have recruited two patient representatives to our subtask, developed a patient involvement and a communications strategy.
Task 8.2.5 Secondary Use of Clinical Data
Calling stakeholders to join Task 8.2.5 activities
This month, Task 8.2.5 is carrying out an extensive mapping exercise to identify stakeholders across the EUnetCCC core group and participating institutions. We are seeking data management professionals to contribute to the data maturity assessments starting in October. In addition, Task 8.2.5 is recruiting patient representatives to join its Patient Advisory Board. For further information, please contact the task leads.
Task 8.2.6 Clinical Trials
Clinical Trials Exchange Programs & Expert Online Thematic Meetings Launching This Autumn
We are excited to share two initiatives coming up this autumn that are designed to strengthen collaboration and exchange across Europe’s clinical trials community.
Clinical Trials Exchange Program
The Clinical Trials Exchange Program is a cross-border initiative that will run between October 2025 and January 2026. Five host institutions will open their doors to two or three visiting institutions for a series of dynamic 1.5-day site visits. Each visit will combine presentations from the host institution with introductions and spotlights from the visiting units, followed by expert discussions.
The program is tailored to different professional roles: clinicians and principal investigators will explore patient-centered topics such as recruitment strategies and long-term retention, while clinical trial managers and study coordinators will focus on organizational tools and practical approaches to daily management. Integrated site visits will give participants direct exposure to each host’s operational setup, creating an invaluable opportunity for hands-on learning and peer-to-peer exchange.
Online Thematic Expert Meetings: Academic CROs
In parallel, we are also designing a series of online webinars shaped by topics identified as important by the community. The first series will focus on academic CROs and will take place in two parts: the first session, at the end of October, will address how to set up an academic CRO, while the second, at the end of November, will look at day-to-day activities and challenges.
Each two-hour session will feature two expert speakers giving short presentations, followed by interactive discussion. Participants will be encouraged to submit their questions in advance so that real case studies can be discussed live. The webinars are aimed at a broad audience, with particular relevance for the hospital-based clinical trial workforce. Details about the experts and registration will be announced very soon.
Task 8.2.7 Cancer Survivorship
Strengthening Survivorship Care: Call for Experts + Malta Q1 2026 Visit
WP8.2.7 is moving from mapping to action. We’re consolidating survey insights to draft minimal survivorship standards aligned with the CRANE framework. We’re also seeking psycho-oncology experts—if your hospital has a dedicated onco-psychology service, please contact the WP8.2.7 team to join our thematic groups. Looking ahead, we’re planning a site visit in Malta (Q1 2026) to learn from local survivorship practices; dates and details will follow. We’ll also hold a face-to-face core group meeting in Paris on 5 November (16:00–18:00 CET), ahead of the Annual Meeting.
Task 8.3 Dissemination & Evaluation
Boosting Communication Ahead of Paris
Task 8.3 has been working intensively on strengthening our communication channels as we approach the Annual Meeting in Paris. The EUnetCCC website is now live, serving as the central hub for news, resources and events. Together with the monthly newsletters, it provides partners and stakeholders with a clear view of WP8 activities and achievements.
Our aim is to ensure a unified message and a strong, coordinated team effort together with WP2. Our shared Communication & Dissemination Strategy focuses on three priorities:
Increasing the visibility of network activities through regular updates and storytelling.
Supporting cross-task collaboration by highlighting synergies and shared outcomes.
Preparing tailored dissemination materials to showcase EUnetCCC’s impact during the Annual Meeting.
Looking ahead, Task 8.3 will continue to collect updates from each subtask and package them into engaging outputs — from articles and social media posts to webinars and partner spotlights. Stay tuned for new formats rolling out this autumn!

Cancer Research: Participation in the Nordic Precision Cancer Medicine Meeting – Oslo, September 15–17
WP8.2.3 attended the Nordic Precision Cancer Medicine meeting held in Oslo from September 15–17, which focused on bridging clinical research with standard healthcare across the Nordic region. The event brought together a diverse community of researchers, clinicians, health economists, and patient representatives, providing a valuable opportunity to strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration.
During the meeting, we gained insights into the latest developments in personalized medicine and national cancer strategies within Nordic countries. The meeting also confirmed the need for more knowledge and support for de-escalation studies— challenging yet essential components in advancing precision cancer medicine. These studies aim to tailor treatments more effectively while minimizing unnecessary interventions.
WP8.2.3 declares an urgent need for a dedicated symposium and network on De-escalation studies in cancer. Such a symposium and platform will be instrumental in promoting and accelerating these efforts across Europe.
