OUR PROGRESS IN APRIL 2025

WP8 Development of Network Activities

Connecting Progress: Insights, Highlights & Collaboration Across WP8

Welcome to the April 2025 edition of the EUnetCCC WP8 Newsletter! This monthly update brings you the latest developments from each WP8 task, showcasing the incredible momentum across our collaborative network. From surveys and strategic workshops to new educational initiatives and dissemination tools, every subtask is actively contributing to building a stronger, more integrated European network for comprehensive cancer care.

Whether you're deeply involved in a specific task or just curious about the broader picture, this newsletter is your go-to source for staying informed, inspired, and engaged.

Task 8.2.2 Personalized Cancer Prevention

Progress on Cancer Prevention Hub Development and Teaming Activities

In April, the Task 8.2.2 team convened in Lyon for the first Prevention Teaming Workshop, hosted by Centre Léon Bérard (CLB). This milestone meeting led to the adoption of a unified definition for Cancer Prevention Hubs, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration, research, education and the integration of personalized prevention strategies. Practical
models of prevention activities — including clinical pathways for risk reduction, survivorship care and health promotion initiatives — were shared across participating centers.

Key next steps include the development of a transferability protocol to guide implementation across different CCC contexts and the launch of a Writing Committee to document best practices and teaming experiences. The next prevention-focused workshops in Cluj-Napoca and Iceland are now being planned, strengthening the foundation for a network of Cancer Prevention Hubs.

Task 8.2.8 Governance, Organisation and Leadership

Governance Subtask Expands Twinning Program with New CCC Partners Across Europe

The Governance, Organisation and Leadership subtask is focused on helping leaders of CCCs and aspiring CCCs to develop new relationships and provide mutual support and learning via a Twinning program of collegial interviews. The subtask team collaborates closely with colleagues in WP4 (Sustainability) and regularly presents as part of the early Bilateral meetings held with pilot CCC sites.

This month we were delighted to be able to invite a pilot site in Lithuania to join our Twinning program and received confirmation from cancer centres in France, Germany and Sweden that they too would like to join. In addition, planning is underway for the first meeting, in May, of the sub-task’s Scientific Advisory Group who we feel will bring invaluable insights and advice to the program.

Task 8.3 Dissemination & Evaluation

Driving Impact Through Dissemination of WP8 Activities within EUnetCCC

Task 8.3 continues to lead the dissemination of WP8 activities through a coordinated strategy that includes the upcoming website, monthly newsletters, interactive workshops, and quarterly engagement tools such as webinars and social media posts. Regular coordination meetings with Task Leads, WP2/WP3 partners, and the WP8 core team ensure alignment and continuous feedback.
