WP8 Open Information Session – Let’s Build Stronger Networks in Cancer Care

We are excited to invite you to the first open information session of Work Package 8 (WP8), happening on April 1st, 2025, from 10:00 to 12:15 CET.

WP8 is centered on developing and implementing joint activities that add value to the network’s members.

The goal is to maximize the impact of ongoing efforts and expertise from parallel projects and initiatives, while delivering a robust organizational and technical infrastructure to strengthen collaboration across institutions and professional communities. Through joint efforts, the aim is to drive systemic change in cancer care, research, and treatment across Europe—ultimately improving patient outcomes.

What to expect:

• Introduction to WP8 and its strategic background
• Presentations from Task Leads on current and upcoming activities:
• Personalized primary and secondary prevention – strengthening the role of CCCs via Prevention Hubs
• Cancer research – raising the quality level of CCC research eco-systems
• Clinical trials – building a European Clinical Trials Engine
• Precision cancer diagnostics – speed up implementation of infrastructure and to build the expertise
• Cancer survivorship – implement programs on cancer survivorship in all EU CCCs
• Secondary use of clinical data – releasing synergies in exploiting it for research and governance purposes
• Governance of CCCs and their networks – measures to improve their performance
• Infrastructure & Tools – developing digital platforms and frameworks to support collaboration across CCCs
• Guidelines – improving efficiency and quality in implementation and impact
• Dissemination & Evaluation – sharing knowledge, measuring impact, and ensuring the sustainability of WP8 efforts.
